Climate change is a pressing issue, so we need to take action.

We will focus on reducing impacts at our breweries – eliminating carbon emissions through the use of climate-friendly technologies, and engaging our value chain to reduce our beer-in-hand carbon footprint.


Our targets

  • 30% reduction in beer-in-hand carbon footprint1
  • 50% reduction in carbon emissions at our breweries
  • 100% electricity from renewable sources at our breweries
  • Eliminate use of coal at our breweries
  • 15% reduction in beer-in-hand carbon footprint
  • 100% low climate impact cooling
  • Partner with 30 suppliers to reduce shared carbon footprint

1 Beer-in-hand emissions refer to the full life-cycle carbon footprint of a product, taking into account value chain impacts beyond the Carlsberg Group’s operational control, such as agricultural production, transport logistics and retail refrigeration.

Playing our part

We are committed to do our part for a ZERO carbon footprint. 

In 2016, Carlsberg Singapore received a Distinction Award at Singapore 3R Packaging Award for our effort in packaging reduction for our 6-pack Carlsberg Green Label beer.

In 2017, we were awarded the Excellence Award for MNCs at the Singapore Packaging Agreement (SPA) Awards for extending our green initiative for Carlsberg Green Label beer to two other products -SKOL and Jolly Shandy drinks.  

Packaging changed from paper carton to a lighter plastic shrink wrap made out of recyclable low density polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)
