We’re all wired differently—by nature, culture, and experience. That shapes how we see the world, solve problems, and work together.
At Carlsberg Singapore, we embrace those differences. Every team has taken part in team-building sessions using the MBTI personality tool—helping each person better understand their work style, communication preferences, and strengths. By uncovering our own profile—and learning how others operate—we’ve strengthened collaboration, deepened empathy, and built smarter teams. Because differences aren’t barriers; they’re building blocks.
We are Carlsberg. We are many. And that’s our power.
At Carlsberg Singapore, gender diversity isn’t a checkbox—it’s a strategic advantage. With 35% women in our team and 42% in leadership, including a female GM, we don’t just talk about balance—we live it.
Men and women bring different strengths to the table—whether in decision-making, leadership approach, communication, risk appetite, emotional intelligence, or conflict resolution. And in business, those differences aren’t just welcome—they’re essential. Because the challenges we face aren’t one-dimensional, and our thinking shouldn’t be either.
When teams are too alike, thinking narrows. When perspectives differ, solutions sharpen.
Gender balance isn’t just fair—it’s smarter business.
At Carlsberg Singapore, we take pride in the rich cultural tapestry that defines our workplace. From Chinese New Year and Christmas to the 7th Month Festival and Halloween, we embrace and celebrate the traditions that matter to our people. By honoring different cultures and customs, we create a more inclusive environment — one where everyone feels respected, seen, and connected together.
Because when people bring their whole selves to work, the whole team grows stronger.
Diversity only works when it’s heard.
At Carlsberg Singapore, we believe that great ideas are born from open minds and diverse perspectives. We foster a culture where every voice is valued — whether through team conversations, collaborative brainstorming, or taking the mic at monthly townhalls. By encouraging healthy dialogue and constructive debate, we build trust, drive creativity, and shape better outcomes together.
It takes practice to speak up—especially where it’s not cultural habit. But when people see their ideas are welcomed, not judged, they rise. And so does the team.
Because when people find their voice, teams find their edge.
From Malaysia to Singapore, from brand to leadership—my journey is a reflection of what growth can look like at Carlsberg.
I joined Carlsberg Malaysia in 2019 in Brand Marketing, fresh out of university—eager to learn and excited to begin my corporate journey.
Driven by curiosity and a desire to better understand the business, I moved horizontally into Channel Marketing, leading the eCommerce channel. It was my first experience managing a full P&L, which challenged me to think more commercially. That role gave me a deeper understanding of how different parts of the business come together to drive on ground results.
My most recent leap was both vertical and geographical — taking on a new challenge in Carlsberg Singapore, leading the Value Management & Sales Capability team. This role brings together every key business lever: brand, pack, price, customer, and channel. It’s a shift to a broader, more strategic perspective—understanding how the pieces connect to create value across the business.
It also marked a personal milestone. At 30, I stepped into my first people leadership role and joined the leadership team. Beyond building strategies, I’ve been learning how to build and nurture a team—growing not just technical capability, but also the soft skills to lead with empathy, influence, and impact.
This journey has been made possible by a company that believes in young leaders, supports bold moves, and places trust in potential.
At Carlsberg, my story isn’t the exception—it’s a glimpse of what’s possible when talent meets trust, and ambition meets opportunity.
We can have a fulfilling career while juggling motherhood.
Being a working mom comes with challenges, but at Carlsberg, I’ve always felt supported, understood, and included. The hybrid work model — with two days from home — helps me balance career and family without compromise. When motherhood calls unexpectedly, I’m never made to feel guilty for prioritising my kids. That kind of trust and flexibility isn’t just appreciated — it’s empowering.
One gesture I’ll never forget: after maternity leave, my team converted a cubicle into a private breastfeeding space. It was thoughtful, practical, and deeply human. With regular check-ins and open conversations, I felt truly welcomed back — not just as an employee, but as a person.
My boss — a parent himself — understands the unpredictability of parenting. He responds with empathy and never questions my commitment. My teammates are equally supportive — always stepping in when I can’t be there physically. There’s a strong sense of “we’ve got each other’s backs,” and that makes all the difference.
Even team activities are planned with inclusivity in mind — no pressure to attend overnight retreats. That thoughtfulness ensures mums feel included, not left out.
At Carlsberg, you don’t have to choose between your career and your kids. I’m living proof that you can have both.
